讓．法亞爾(Jean Fayard) 1902年生。1924年發表處女作《牛津與瑪格麗特》(Oxford et Margart)，諷刺英國的風俗習慣，文筆活潑、清新。1927年發表另一部作品《世界的四分之三》(Trois Quarts de monde)，對巴黎的風土人情做了饒有興趣的研究。另有作品《尋夢紀》(La Chasse aux rêves, 1935)、《傳奇故事》(Roman, 1946)，文筆灑脫、細膩。常於報刊發表專欄文章，並寫了一本《遠行時的小導遊》(Un petit Guide du grand touristme, 1965)，記錄了他在世界各地旅行時蒐集的傳聞軼事。1931年以小說《相思病》(Mal d?amour)獲得龔固爾文學獎。
